I have an epson scanner that has just started giving the the error message,
please install required TWAIN driver. The scanner software however works fine
in the other 2 profiles on the system, a limited accound the the admin
account. My account was also an admin account. I suspect this is a corrupt
profile, or a registry error. I haver tried system restore, but this did not
work, and made things worse, so I undid the restore, and things went back to
as they were beofre, with the scanner refusing to work in my profile. I have
tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, but that does not work. Any
Suggesttions. I use XP Pro, with all ujp to date patches.

One option is to create a new profile with admin privileges, test the
scanner. If that works, copy the data and settings from the old account to
the new. Test again. If that's ok, work in the new account for awhile and
if all seems well delete the old account.
