Strange problem with left Shift key

For some reason (and it doesn't happen all the time), when I boot up (I
*think* it's only when I've hibernated the PC) the left Shift key seems
to think it's pressed down when it's not. What I mean is that if I
select an icon on the desktop or file in Explorer, it can select more
than one at once. I can stop this happening by pressing the left Shift
key down once, then it's fine until the next time I boot up.

I thought it was a faulty keyboard so I bought a new one but it still
does it.

Any ideas please? It's pretty annoying!

Good luck, hope this helps
