Strange Problem during Home to Professional Upgrade

Everything was going fine in my upgrade from XP Home to
Professional but I noticed that the computer kept doing
the same thing over and over again. It would get to the
Installing step and it would say 34 minutes left and
Installing Devices or something like that and the progress
bar would be about 60-65% done and it would cut off and
restart. When it came back it would start back out at the
Installing step and it would be 39 minutes left and it
would start installing devices again. Then at 34 minutes
and 60% progress bar, boom, there it goes again with the
restart. It did this over and over again until I finally
cut my computer off when it started to restart again.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Jason, disconnect all peripheral devices leaving only the keywboard,
mouse and CD. Turn off all running prorgams such as anti virus, etc.
