Strange noises from speakers

I get strange noises from my speakers when no programmes are running, as
well as when watching video/listening to music. It sounds like a frog/
electronic raspberry blowing. It lasts about 1 second and occurs about every
15 sacs.

Any idea what it could be/how to get rid of it?

Had the same or similar problem. Double click the Volume icon and mute CD. I
did that, the noise stopped AND the CD player still worked (through the
IDE).
