I have noticed a new folder on my desktop with a magnifying glass on it, it
is named "Search Results".
In the folder it has all the icons that are on the desktop in it.
Do I delete this folder or leave it?
Where did it come from.
Any Ideas
Many Thanks

And if you're wondering why on earth I wrote that, well "Dgethin"

Sound like the type of file you get when you do a search for files
Start > Search
and then save the results via File > Save Search

If you have no recollection of ever having saved it, then it's probably time
for virus scan

If a detail view of the Desktop shows the type as 'System Folder', then the 'Search Results' folder
has probably lost the attributes that normally keep it hidden unless a search is performed. In the
registry, look under this key:

[HKCR\CLSID\{e17d4fc0-5564-11d1-83f2-00a0c90dc849}\ShellFolder]

for a value named 'Attributes'. It should be of type REG_DWORD with a value of 0x20180000. Edit
the value if necessary. Then click on the desktop, press 'F5' to refresh & the folder should
disappear.
