Strange listbox behavior in version 2003 after version 2007

I have a system that has worked fine for years in the several versions of
Excel leading up to the 2007 version. Recently I brought the code up in
Excel 2007 to make some small changes and stored it back in the 2003 format
which the people that use it have. I was told there two minor format changes
that should not cause a problem (it would be nice if the new version told you
the actual cells that contain the minor problems).
An Active X listbox on a worksheet that worked fine before and still works
fine in the new Excel 2007 now has strange behavior in Excel 2003. The
underlying listbox works as it did before. Scrolling with the up and down
arrow keys or clicking on an item with the mouse results in the same
operations being performed as before but the visible aspect of the listbox
does not work. Nothing is highlighted in the listbox to start and the
selected item does not get highlighted when you scroll or click. When you
scroll down past the bottom of the visible portion the last item in the box
repeats upwards to fill the listbox and remains. This is very strange. Has
anyone else experienced anything like this?

Regarding my earlier post – I traced the lisbox visible behavior problem to
an Application.ScreenUpdating I had forgotten I had inserted. In Excel 2007
the listbox did visibly change while the cells on the sheet did not. In
Excel 2003 both the listbox and the cells on the sheet did not visibly
change. I am finding other different behavior in 2007 versus 2003 that I
still have not traced down. I suppose this is turning out to be a comment to
beware.
