Strange IE redirection of error page

M

Manny

When my browser fails to find a webpage or I may type an
incorrect URL, the page is re-directed to the website:
http://searchpage.cc/1525

I run spybot and it removed various malice and cleaned my
registry for instances of this, also know as "nkvd".
However, when I click on a dead link or mis-type the URL
it sends me straight back to the same page, often
changing my homepage also.

Is there any way i can get rid of this?

Manny,

Download and apply RepairDefaultPrefix.reg from here:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm (or)
http://209.68.48.119/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

[Spyware removers - This part not to be skipped]
First, run CWShredder : http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
Lavasoft Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
SpyBot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/
(Spyware removers are rules-based and are updated very frequently as and when new malware is discovered. Therefore, update both of these tools before scanning, very important)
