win2k workgroup
PC's can see each other in 'My network places', and can browse to the peer
server, but can't browse to each other. If you try to click on one of the
pc's, I get an error 'Server not configured for transactions'
If I go start-run IP, 'Network name cannot be found'
Server service is started on all of the machines, as is Computer browser.

Any clues?

Make sure all computers are in the same workgroup and that all useraccounts
exist on all computers (W2K/XP's). Got File- and printersharing loaded? Is
Netbios over TCP/IP enabled (Advanced properties of TCP/IP, tab WINS)?

Yes and yes. Pc's are all from the same image with the same user
accounts/services/protocols.

Thanks for the fast reply.

If they are from the same image, what kind of image,...Norton Ghost?,...if
so did you remember to change the SID so they don't all have the same SID?

Yes, Ghost.
Never had a problem with the SIDs before.

That's because they are in a workgroup. If they were in a Domian you would
have issues because the Domain identifies them by the SID and they would all
have the same SID, so you end up with SID conflicts. Ghost comes with
GHSTWALK.EXE (if I spelled it right). You have to copy it to a bootable
floppy, boot the machine with it and run the executable to alter the SID to
make it unique before putting the machine in service. It can also rename
the machine if the name stays the same length, but I hardly ever use it for
that, I always rename the machine myself first.
