Strange Error Message XPP on iMac via Parallels

Too bad this newsgroup will not accept attachments. I just received the
following error message when I tried to Quit XP Pro

------
"Smantec AntiVirus found a disk in he floppy drive. In order to decrease
the risk of being infected with a boot sector virus, remove the floppy
before you shut down the computer.

LAPTOP USERS: If a floppy drive was disconnected from your laptop,
reconnect it, remove any floppy, and select OK".
--------

I am using a 2.4 GHz iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo running XP Pro under
Parallels and there is no floppy drive.

Anyone know how go tell Smatec AntiVirus not to look for a floppy drive?

There should be an option under Norton Antivirus' settings to
enable/disable scanning of removable devices. This should equally be
true for the Corporate editions.

Best solution to this problem is to uninstall all Norton/Symantec products.
They are extremely troublesome.

Thanks.......based on you note I went to the Auto Protect Advanced
Options and on the sub panel called "Check Floppies/System shutdown
settings" I checked the box that say says "Do not check floppies upon
system shutdown" and it worked!

No more nag notes on shutdown

Thanks for making me take a 2nd look.

That's a bit harsh. I'm aware that not all Symantec based installations are
trouble free, especially to us power users, but not all of them are bad. :)

It may be harsh, but there's much truth in it. Personally, I have lost
all confidence in Symantec, and would not have any of their products
on any of my computers. Even if there were a Symantec product that I
didn't know was troublesome, Symantec has taught me not to trust them.

Point taken. :)
