strange browser behaviour (virus maybe?)

A

Aloa

Weirdly my net hangs after a while so that only one browser window
(iexplorer 6) works. If I have the exactly same url on two browser windows,
then only one of them is working while the other states "Page not found" as
if there is no internet connection at all. Then a few minutes after this the
working browser window becomes unusable too. Resetting the modem works but
only for a few minutes at a time.

This happens every day, the problem is consistent on a daily basis but
random within a day. Sometimes it takes only a few clicks for the net to
freeze and maybe 30 minutes for other days. I contacted my ISP and they
checked the line and told me it is okay. Also they told me to scan the
machine for pests and trojans - did that with many programs, the machine is
clean.

Now, what can be causing this behaviour? Maybe my firewall? Any comments?
