Good morning...
running a clean instal copy of XP Pro, this morning an
error message appeared stating that scan disk and such
had to run at log-in. After it started (no way to stop
it) i noticed that all the 'L's in the message were
upside down. After this ran (which took an abnormally
long time), my user folder was duplicated as user.000
instead of user. Now when I log-in it is loggin me in as
user.000 and I am denied access to several components of
my previous folder.

Has anyone seen this, or does anyone have any insight as
to how to repair?

Thank you in advance

Definatley sounds like a Trojan or other malicious
software ran on that machine.
Strongly suggest you run some virus software to see if
that flags anything but even if it doesn't come up with
anything suspicious - you may want to look into taking the
machine to a (reputable) local computer shop for further
investigation

Have experienced this before - Had to trash the partition. As a matter of interest are you using fat32?
