Strange behavior in TD since upgrading to the full version...

Hello all,
Since I upgraded from the SP2 eval to the full version of XPe I’ve
encountered some strange problems in that are driving me nuts. I did a full
uninstall/reinstall of the database and tools. I’ve reinstalled both the
database and the tools a couple of times. I’m using a separate database (on
a 2003 SQL 2000 server) and tools (on my XP pro machine), and have been able
to upgrade the database to SP2 and install all of the current updates from my
tools machine, so I believe permissions on the database are OK.

This is the same computer and dv server than ran the eval version flawlessly
(once I figured out what I was doing, anyway :).

I’ve seen the same problems with the .slx files I created with the eval
version and a duplicate I created with the full version. I’m using some of
the same macro and device component files.
Here are the more notable problems. None of these happened in the eval
version.
1 – I can’t upgrade the configuration. When I right-click either the
“Components†folder or an individual component that shows the up arrow icon,
then choose “upgrade,†nothing happens, but no error messages or warnings
occur. The same thing happens (nothing) when I choose Upgrade from the
Configuration menu.
2 – TD won’t do a build when there’s an outstanding dependency error
reported. Furthermore it automatically launches a dependency check before I
do a build rather than asking me. Which is annoying because I really don’t
want to include the darn Add Hardware Control panel. This didn’t happen with
the eval. There are no warnings or errors, the button just doesn’t *do*
anything. I believe that once it said “Build Aborted.â€, but this was at
about 4:30 in the morning so I may have been imagining things.
3 – I can’t delete components from the build in TD. I can disable or “cutâ€,
but I can’t delete.

It feels like I went backwards in functionality to a beta version, even
though the CDs and case are labelled SP2 and aren't labelled as "preview",
beta, or anything else. So I did a little poking around and found that the
same TD build, 2.00.0807.0, was in use for both SP1 and SP2. This seems
counterintuitive but I can’t find a later version mentioned anywhere.

Any suggestions?

Disregard this. I had somehow managed to enable EnableDefaultReply on my
*development* system. So if you were wondering if this works on XP Pro as
well as XPe the answer is yes.
