Storyboard gives poor quality video

I have used Windows Movie Maker to capture video from my DV Video Camera at 25mpbs (The highest possible rate
When i preview the AVI file itself, it looks fine, but when i add it to the Storyboard, the quality of the video goes down, giving a grainy, jumpy image with lots of lines through it

Why is this happening?

The preview mode is shown in reduced quality as it is intended to give you
an idea of what you have. Showing in full resolution would require
additional computer resources, or it would slow the system down. If the AVI
plays fine, then that's what you have.

This is just FYI, though I dont think anybody should actually need to use it
ever... :-D

According to my investigations, if ever you wanted to have better quality
view in your preview mode, resize your source images to the size of 384x288
or its exact multiple. This seems to be the size WMM uses internally to work
in preview mode. please note that this criteria is only for preview mode. If
it also happens to be your output size then you would get the best of both
worlds.
