stopping sound in PPT 2000

Finally, thanks to Echo's help, I'm able to get my sounds to play. How can
I stop the sound without PPT going to the next slide? I have it set to
start when I click on the speaker, which works. Now, I want to be able to
stop the sound and stay on that slide. Clicking again on the speaker starts
the sound again.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi,

Add an action button to the slide and set the action settings to Play Sound
- Choose Stop Previous Sound from the drop down items. When you click on it
the sound will stop if it's a wav file.

If your sound is not a wav file, create a work-around by creating a
duplicate slide. Use custom animation to set your sound to stop playing
after current slide. Then (Insert, Duplicate Slide) Make sure there are no
transitions on either slide. When you want the sound to stop use the down
arrow to go to the next slide. If you want to play the sound again, click on
it and use the up arrow to go back to the previous slide (which will stop the
sound).
You can move back and forth between the 2 slides starting and stopping the
sound without anyone the wiser because they look exactly alike.

I think Sonia deserves the credit for that one! Regardless, I'm really glad
to hear you got the sound working.
