stopping & changing to &

As the title suggests, how can you stop the ampersand sign
changing to &?

I just want it to stay at &

I think fp is doing that because the & is supposed to be &amp in the code, I
guess so it's not confused with a parameter.

1. Make sure your page option are to preserver HTML.
2. In HTML view search and replace & with & and then save the page.

Could you be pasting text into your FP page that was copied from a
formatted text program? That's the usual cause when this happens to me
in other site building software.
