Thanks for the response. I tried everything in that
article when I first had this problem and it didn't seem
to fix anything. Also, I noticed that the article pertains
to Outlook 2000 and I have Outlook 2003.

A more detailed reason and fix for the problem

I think I found what was causing this error in my circumstances. What I have:
- Outlook 2003
- hx4700 ipaq with windows Mobile 2003 SE
- Pocket Informant

I had the problem with a single contact that I had edited on my pocket PC only. I was using the Pocket Informant as my contact editor. I was adding some notes to the contact. When I was trying to select the end of a line of notes so I could insert some text, I noticed that my cursor wasn't appearing at the end of the line. Instead it was putting tiny dots beside the text (basically embedding a drawing into the contact notes area). Once a drawing was put into the notes, from then on the error would occur with that contact.

The fix: I ended up manually editing the contact notes on my PC (adding the info again) and doing a sync. Activesync finds a discrepancy and (if you have not changed the default Activesync options) prompts you to overwrite PDA or Desktop. I overwrite PDA info with desktop info and from then on the error is gone.

Hope that helps describe the problem to others, and an alternate way of fixing the problem :)
