Is there a way from stopping XP from accessing the "a drive" on shutdown.
I copy to the a drive (31/2 disk) during a session & take the disk out after
using. XP will still try to access the drive during shutdown even though
the drive is empty. This is no major problem but is there any way to stop
the access during shutdown?

Hi Marvo: Have you received any responses on this? I keep getting the same
thing but on start up and I can't make it stop, just annoying.

Check inside the anti-virus configuration. Several anti-virus softwares are
normally configured to scan the floppy drives during the Windows Shutdown
process.

You might also make sure you access a different drive before shutting
down. Sometimes Windows will not clear the connection to a floppy by
itself. This was caused by a changeline error back in the DOS days.
