stop th from changing small with a number

How do I stop the th in say 9th to become smaller. As well as how to turn
off the switch that does the same thing in 2nd. thanks
 
Tools>AutoCorrect Options>AutoFormat AsYouType>Replace As You Type

Uncheck "Ordinals with superscript"
 
Go to Tools, Autocorrect and select the AutoFormat as you type tab. Untick
Ordinals (1st) with superscript.
