How can I stop visitors to my site changing the text size in their browser ?

Thanks, Jim

You could write a better browser than Internet Explorer and Netscape, and
offer it for free. You could disable this option after you totally defeat
the "big two" in the browser wars.

You can't and you shouldn't. If I can't read your text and can't make it
larger, I'm outta there in a heartbeat.

Jim,

For users that don't have a clue, then their default font size is medium in
IE, and should be fine.

Your site looks fine 800 x 600, 1280 x 1024 (my normal res)

With my fonts set to Largest, you just need to make you page a little longer
to start with to allow for word wrapping and the forcing of the images down
on the page.

Thanks Thomas, I understand that generally the text size is not so much of
an issue. The reason I raised this is because the owner of that property on
my web site http://www.homeworld.co.nz/organic/ had a second hand laptop
and the text size was set to a larger then normal size.

I only found out about that text setting when he came to see me with his
laptop to sort out why he couldn't see all the text (setting 800x600) on his
page. He had been using that Laptop for at least a year and had no idea how
to change that setting or even that it was set to larger text.

Many people have no idea how to change basic settings on their PC and
therefore on some of my pages I use a link to my Help Page:

One solution for the text above your images on the left and right is to make
the text into a image.

Take a look at this site in Netscape with the text size set at 200%. In IE I
cannot change the text size but in Netscape I still can.

Try your own site there as well.
I realize that 200% is a little much!!

I really wish someone would answer this guy's original question. I'm in need of the same thing. On Dreamweaver sites, the text size can be locked so browsers can't change it. I want this on my site. How is it done with FP?

I would guess that you have to code it in the stylesheet the same as you did
in Dreamweaver.

Have you view one of those site with IE, and turn off support for style
sheet under the Accessibility function?
