Stop shutdown of machine while shared folders in use

In Windows 98 if you tried to shutdown a computer but another computer has a
drive mapped to the original message you get a message like:

Shutting down your computer will disconnect them.

I'd like to have the same thing happen on XP. How do you do it? Is it
possible?

I know it can be done, since it happens to my moms laptop all the time when
she accesses it from her desktop. But sorry I dont know how to set it up...
