Stop Service before Standby/Hibernate

Hi

Is there any way to attach a script/command file to run when my laptop
is about to enter Standby/Hibernate? Similarly for when the machine
comes back from standby/hibernate?

I have some annoying services (Linksys Media Adapter) that prevent the
machine from standby/hibernate so it would be great if these services
could be automatically shutdown.

Many thanks
Gary

Hi

Take a look at this thread for a script solution that might work
for you:

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it seems that the service
rejects the suspend request before the event you suggest is fired.

In the event log I get 'The service "XWPCHostService" vetoed a power
event request.'

Any ideas of a different event I could listen for?

Sorry, I don't know...
