"stop recording" button not visible

I was recording a macro in Excel 2000 and inadvertently
clicked on the close button of the small window instead
of the Stop recording button when I was finished. This
made the small window disappear and now I can't get it to
reappear when I want to record another macro. This
happened a few years ago and I was able to rectify it
then but I can't remember how.

Using Excel 2000 & 97

Note that you have to do this while you record a macro or else it won't be
among the toolbars

Set to record a macro then you will find the Stop Recording toolba
available (right click a toolbar)
