stop loading of application at startup...

I'm trying to "fix" my boss's "new" PC which came with XP
Home on it... He loaded a lot of junk into it an is pissed
that it's slow starting up... Naturally he wants to keep
the software just not load it a startup...

As is the case with any windows release they find new
place to hide stuff that you need... Where do I find the
list of stuff that get loaded at startup...
