stop found new hardware

i have a compaq 7500 monitor and a compaq pc. i just added a new pci video
card (to get away from the onboard video). if i do not install the drivers
for the monitor, the card works perfectly. if i install the compaq drivers
(not xp certified tho), the monitor works okays, but the system slows down a
lot. if i do not install, it works great but every time i start up i get
found new hardware meesage. is there a ork around??

yes i did all that, and just by ignoring the new hardware found all works
fine, just aggravating. found a xp approved driver at compaq, installed and
all is well now. i have used the monitor on same pc with zp for 4 years, so
this driver thing made no sense.
