Stop formatting of bold autocorrect

I have placed words in autocorrect that are bold, but when I use them in my
document, it automatically starts me on a new line! I have unchecked most of
the boxes in autoformat and autoformat as you type. Any help?

You have created a *formatted* AutoCorrect entry that contains a paragraph
mark or line break. Delete the AutoCorrect entry and recreate it, making sure
not to include anything but the actual (formatted) text.

You can make this task easier by pressing Ctrl+Shift+8; Word displays
nonprinting marks (paragraph marks display as ¶ symbols). For more on
nonprinting marks, see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/NonPrintChars.htm.

Thank you so much - you were right. I also figured out that my "smart
cursor" was on so even though I tried to just highlight the word, it included
the line break. You solved a huge problem for me! Many thanks!

Glad I could help.

The setting you need to turn off to prevent Word from automatically
selecting the paragraph mark might have different names in different versions
of Word; in Word 2007 it is called "Use smart paragraph selection" (Office
button | Word Options, Advanced category, under "Editing options").
