I occasionally keep getting a stop error code 0x000000C5

However, I cant tell which driver or program may be the cause.

This only happen occasionally.

probably graphics card driver or faulty ram--google for memory test and
check your memory--Nvidia drivers also a well-known culprit

Thank you Vankatesh

Here what it says

"An attempt occurred to touch invalid memory at a process IRQL that is
too high. This is almost always caused by drivers that have corrupted
the system pool. If you’ve recently installed any new software, check
to see if it’s properly installed; and check for updated drivers on
the manufacturer’s web site."

I know it not my memory sticks that is the problem. It worked fine
with xp sp1.

What area of memory does dep protect-that windows didn‘t use too?

How can I find out what program or driver get into that memory area.

In the meantime. I just turned off dep by using the
NoExecute=AlwaysOff in the boot.ini file

In case this issue is upon installing Windows XP Sp2, follow these
steps to uninstall SP2 and see if it helps:

* Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open box, and then
click OK.
* Click to select the Show Updates check box.
* Click Windows XP Service Pack 2, and then click Remove.
* Follow the instructions on the screen to remove Windows XP SP2.

I want to keep xp sp2.

In the mean time I will just disable dep.

I guess no one know what area of memory the Data Execution Prevention
uses.

I want get a memory program that can show the memory area used by each
program.

Then I will see if a program or driver uses that memory.
