Hi,
I have a major problem with RIS. I'm trying to install Windows XP on a dozen
or so new notebooks, they're all HP Compaq nx6310 notebooks, equiped with an
Intel SATA controller.
I've edited the 'ristd.sif' and the 'winnt.sif' files and copied the files
to the proper locations (<Image>\Textmode and <Image>\I386>. After hitting
F12, I can get through the text based part of setup, but as soon as setup
reboots the machine, setup hangs itself with a stop 0x7b error.
It appears the Intel Storage Matrix driver (iaStor.sys) isn't loaded yet
when setup requires access to the disk. Is there any way of changing the
order in which setup loads storage drivers.
I did find a hotfix from Microsoft, KB839210, but reading the description,
it doesn't appear to fix my problem.
I've looked through just about every imaginable source of knowledge, but I
cannot seem to find the solution. So if anyone can: PLEASE HELP ME OUT!
