Stop Error 0x50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

First of all i am a non technical user trying to figure out a problem for a knowledgeable administrator less company

We have the following BSOD error every time the computer tries to open windows

"STOP: 0X00000050 (0XA2A78730, 0x00000001, 0xBFFDBEE5, 0x00000002
Address BFFDBEE5 base at BFEEE000, Date Stamp 3ebc05a5 - Ntfs.sys

This error or a slight variance on the error pops up at every time i boot -- rather it be safe mode, w/ networking, off of the the win cd-rom. This is becoming very frustrating. So far i have also unhooked all of the usb cables for our printer/cutter, digital camera and the wacom tablet

All suggestions are welcome.

I just found a post on google about possible defective RAM. How would i test this? Also, does ram just go bad suddenly?

Certainly RAM can just go bad but you typically will see a Stop 0xA error.
You try try removing a stick at a time to see if one in particular causes
the issue.

I had a very similar problem with a notebook computer. It wouldn't
even boot from the Windows CD -- crashing with the same error. It
turned out to be a hard disk problem. I noticed that your error
occurred in "NTFS.sys" as well. I booted from the Knoppix (Linux) CD,
saved all my data via the network, replaced the hard disk drive, then
reinstalled Windows to fix. The Knoppix disk worked well because it
installs in a RAM disk and doesn't require a hard drive to boot and it
can also read NTFS disks once booted.

HTH & Good Luck,
John
