Stop background sound

I am making a site for a client who wants music playing in the background bur he wants
a button to stop the music. I dont know how to add a link to stop the sound ?

You would have to go about this different than normal. ACtually, there's a
neat online tool at: http://javascript.about.com/library/tools/blbgaudio.htm
to help you do just this. Basically though, you're not doing a background
sound anymore, but instead a sound that is loaded when the page loads that
can be controlled through javascript.
