stop auto install during boot

The problem occurs when an install disk (doesn't matter from what) was left
in the CD drive previously and the computer is then turned on. After the
computer has started it automatically tries to install what ever disk was
left in the drive even if it is already installed. Other that the obvious
solution of not leaving a disk in the drive, how do I fix this?

isn't it normal. most cd have an "autorun" feature. take the cd out of the
drive. how difficult is that?

Maybe I wasn't clear. It's not happening when I put the CD in, it happens
when the CD was LEFT IN the drive and the computer is turned on. The former,
I would expect the install to autorun. The latter is a pain in the ***
becuase it tries to re-install and this problem started occuring after a bum
install. (install of what I don't remember)

I don't know that there is a difference. If for some reason the computer
tries to read the cd, it is going to start "Autorun" feature.

could disable autorun, I guess.

Is Bios set to boot from CD, as first boot device?
reset bios to boot to HD as first boot device.

this could just be masking/workaround real problem. I don't know.

It's acting as designed. Take out the CD, or disable autoplay using
Tweak UI.

Remove the disk from the drive.
