STOP: 0x0000008E on World of Warcraft Update

I used to play world of warcraft on this same computer with no problems.

Now, when I open it and it starts to go to an update, the computer crashes
with the famous "blue screen" that reads:

STOP: 0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0X8515A0BD, 0xA90A0B4C, 0x00000000)

I did not do anything different before I started to play WOW.
I played to trial (which streamed the content instead of downloading it all
to your comp) fine.
It is the unstreamed downloaded version I have problems with

In order to fix this I have...:
-installed all the latest drivers for my network, display, audio, etc.
-reinstalled WOW
-ran the WOW repair application
-updated DirectX
-closed all background apps, cut down on startup apps
-turned off power management
-installed ALL system updates
-did a Scandisk, there were no errors
-did a disc defrag
-restarted a bunch, of course

I have 1.86GHz processor (Intel Pent) with 1024MB RAM and 13.9GB free space

does ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA ON WHAT I SHOULD TRY TO FIX THIS?!

I really dont want to reinstall windows though >.<
though that would probably solve the problem. =.=
