Stop: 0x0000007E Error at Windows XP Pro Startup

A couple of weeks ago I started noticed that my computer would reboot
2-3 times on initial startup. I disabled the automatic reboot on
system failure option and got the blue screen with the following error:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stop: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xf7993a62, 0xbad50bd4, 0xbad508d0)

wmxlcore.sys - address F7993a62 base at F7990000, datestamp 425c8225
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have found wmxlcore.sys is a Logitech game controller file. Thinking
maybe a corrupt file, I have removed the Logitech game software and
reinstalled with no change.

In addition, I have tried the following:
-ran virus scan
-removed spyware
-ran CHKDSK
-examined the "System" and "Application" logs in Event Viewer
for recent errors

Kids have been playing Madden 2005 and NHL 2005 using Logitech wireless
rumblepad controllers and have some game problems recently -- game
locking up/shutting down unexpectly. Don't know what wmxlcore.sys
does or is supposed to do, but it may be related to the game issues as
well.

System seems to run fine after windows XP boots up, but it may take 2
or 3 attemps to get it up and running. I have been using this system
for a little over 1 year without any problems, until this problem
started a couple of weeks ago.
Any suggestions or recommendations to resolve would be greatly
appreaciated.
Thanks!
