Two XP Pro SP2 PCs on client's network started to get this BSOD error at
about the same time. Totally different hardware. Happens randomly and PCs
run OK most of the time. Subsidiary errors are: 0xc07c1718, 0xc000000e,
0xf82e3384, 0x1799f860. Atapi.sys is mentioned in stop error. My research
so far would indicate that error may be caused by:

1. Bad sector in VM page file
2. Disk controller error
3. Virus infection
4. Bad RAM
5. Depleted non-paged pool resources (rare)

Seems unlikely to me that two different PCs would start developing any of
the hardware-related causes at the same time, so this leaves possibly 3. &
5.

May be related to the installation of TM PC-Cillin since issue started
shortly after this was installed (but only on these two PCs).

Anyone got any ideas?

If both run same software,pc cilan is probably the reason.Thier are a couple
of hot fixes related to this, 1st.892489 and try #894472

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for you response.

If those references are MS KB articles, they don't seem to be relevant since
neither KB mentions BSOD in symptoms.

Cheers,
Bill
