Windows 2000 Pro (SP4) fully patched (10/14/04), Office 2003 Pro fully
patched. I have a user running Excel. When trying to save a spreadsheet she
will randomly get

STOP: 0x00000006 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000,
0x00000000)INVALID_PROCESS_DETACH_ATTEMPT

It appears that MS has a fix specific for this but I am not able to get
access to it.

Are there any suggestions out there?

Regards,
Omar

Heya there Omar,

Just to let you know... We have a similar problem here... Although
ours happens with MS Word 2003

However, I've got the Hotfix, applied it ... and its made no
difference at all...

Did it work for you?

Cheers

Hey guys I have the excact same problem, no patch would work, although it
only happens in excel and only when I save on excel to the network, but if I
save locally it doesn't happen, if I "save as" it would save ok to the
server. I hope that workaround helps you any. Others than that I have not
been able to find a solution excep for upgradeing to WinXP

Hey guys

I also have the excact same problem on three PCs. No patch would work,
although it
happens in word and excel, but only when I save on excel to the network, but
if I
save locally it doesn't happen, if I "save as" it would save ok to the
server. I hope that anyone will find a way to korrekt the Problem!

Bye Gregor

Hi All,

PCs in our office have the same problem and cannot be resolved also. We
have already install the hotfix, but still not work. And the workaround is
only work if we "save as" another file name that is not exist in the network
drive. Any other advice ? Thanks !

Hi,

I was experiencing this problem also and have found it to be a
configuration on the client properties of NAV.

Open Norton Antivirus from the system tray.

In the menu, go to configuration, and un-tick "Network" under drive
types.

Which ever version you are using, all you need to do is uncheck
network as a drive type.

It is unnecessary to use this feature if the server is already
scanning using its own NAV client.

Hope this helps!

Goodf luck
