How many and what newsreader service(s) are you using. Maybe one or more of
them went down for a while. Did you have all the rest of your services,
e-mail, web access, etc? Did this happen overnight or while you were "in
session"? Are you talking to us on another machine? How did you get to
this newsgroup?

Many of the Microsoft servers such as live.com have recently had
problems, and Charter frequently has problems. Which server are
you having problems connecting to?

When everything seems to quit working at once, it's often the DNS
server, although it could be part of the path that connects you to
the internet. You might want to ask your internet provider if
they've been having problems lately, such as their DNS server not
working.

through my normal internet connection

So, it just looks like your two (news.cableone.net, news.easynews.net)
servers are down, not "everything".

they are not down........it's something preventing my windows mail from
connecting.....

You need to get the configuration information from your mail provider. Who
is this for you? Let us know and maybe we can find the help page for you.
