Hi, i have read as many posts as i can be bothered to
read on the subject of mpeg files not been played
correctly and ive looked at all the links suggested but
im afraid this STILL does not solve my problem. Im trying
to play some .mpg files and they have the sound but no
picture. Im using XPpro and media player 9series. I have
also tried the DivX codec and Gspot codec but they havent
solved anything for me. Please help. Thanks.

Even with the appropriate codecs installed, I have found that Windows Media
Player just won't play certain mpeg or avi movie files. When WMP can't
handle a movie file, I open it with this player instead:
http://www.bsplayer.org/ I prefer the WMP interface somehow, but I don't
think I've ever found a movie file which BSPlayer had a problem with.

Let me know if this works for you.

Regards,
Ian.

Gspot itself is not a codec. it will tell you which codec you need to order
to play the video.
