Still having "run as administrator" problems

J

JFW

Alex B was kind enough to tell me how to become the real administrator of my
Vista Home Premium os. He said to go from Control Panel>System and
Maintenance>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Local Users and Groups,
etc.

I can get to "Computer Management" but then no joy; the subtitles are
"System Tools," "Storage," "Services and Applications." Under "Services and
App," I get "Services" and "WMI Control." Under "Services" there is
something called "Group Policy Client" which is marked "started." Is this
relevant????

I don't have a clue how to get to "Local Users and Groups" in order to get
to "Administrators."

Any further help will be appreciated.

JWF, the reason you were unable to get to Local users & Groups is that it is
not available in Home Premium. I tried that after I read your post, and that
was the answer. Follow these steps and see for yourself : --
1. when you get to System & maint., enter " local users and group " (
without the qoutes )
2. in the new window in front of you, look for Search Windows Help and
Support for " local users ", click that
3. a Help and Support pop-up will appear, click the very first one. You'll
get the rest of the answers.
PS. my OS is same as yours, that's why I went to investigate. Please confirm
what I told you. Thanks.

JFW, I forgot. About being a real administrator, go to Vistax64.com and
look for a tutorial about how to enable the real hidden administrator. I've
downloaded and saved it on a cd. There are quite a few helpful tutorials,
spend some time there. Good luck.
