Can't get into administrator

Andrew S

I am having a problem deleting a program that is causing problems.

I keep getting the message that I do not have permission and must contact
the administrator.

I have tried to un-hide, re-hide and then un-hide again administrator using:

Net user administrator/active:yes

I was told to also do the following:
If you have activated the hidden Admin account, did you go to Control
Panel/Admin Tools/Computer Management/Users and Groups/User and
right-clicked the Administrator account, Properties and un-checked
*Account Disabled* to make it show as an account you can use to login
with?

Am not able to find Admin Tools without doing a search and when I do get to
it I cannot see any Users and Groups.

Anyone have any thought on this?

Thanks in advance.

How are you trying to "delete" this program? And what IS this program?

It is called Local Users and Groups.

Just correcting the link for those who have it. Thanks for the update,
though as I only have Ultimate versions. For home versions use this

First, open an elevated command prompt by typing

cmd into the Search box on the Start menu, right-clicking

the command prompt icon that appears at the top of the

Start menu, then selecting Run as administrator .

Then enter this command and press Enter:

Net user administrator /active:yes

From now on, the Administrator account will appear as an

option on the Welcome screen, along with any user accounts

you may have set up. Use it like any other account. Be aware

that it won't have a password yet, so it's a good idea to set a

password for it.

If you want to disable the account and hide it, enter this

command at an elevated command prompt and press Enter:

Net user administrator /active:no

I am trying to delete it from remove programs.

The program is "Organize my file cabinet for dummies" this program links to
windows mail and keeps crashing it after a period of time.

Thanks

And did you install this program yourself using your own User Account?

I tried that several times activated it then deactivated it and so on to no
avail.

I was logged in my user account.

Then there's a huge bug in the program. I suggest you contact the program
manufacturer and ask them why this is happening. If you installed the
program in your user account then there should be no problems uninstalling
it in your user account.
