Still have the SATA hanging prob

I thought I had it fixed but it was a no show.

I have an A7N8X Deluxe AMD barton 2500, Crusial DDR 3200 512, ATI 9700 pro
Enermax 350 PS. Loads of fans Runs at 82 deg f. Running a SATA Maxtor
Diamond max 9 160 gig HD brand new, DVD CD drive and DVD burner LG modle.

My problem is :
My computer hangs for two minutes during Varifying DMI POOL.

What I have done so far is:
1. Set the raid pin on main board.
2. Loaded the latest Raid Sil driver 3112a
During windows XP install press f6 then choose by press s
3. I loaded the nforce_3.13Winxp2k driver newest one off Asus site
4. Took all drives off but the SATA and DVD drives
5. In bios I set first boot divice as Scsi and every combination possible.
Rebooting after each attempt.

This problem started when I loaded the Nvidia Main board Drivers. Other wise
there is no problem. I have to load the drivers or the netcard won't work.
1. I have formatted the drive 5 times now. everytime useing max blaster
2. I have done a zero format and did a total scan disk with power max
nothing has been able to correct the problem. The only thing I haven't done
is flash the Bios ( too scared). If I did I would use the umber bios I'm
sure.
Could someone help me on this? TIA

If your system is playing up at the Verifying DMI POOL step, then this is
before your system starts to load windows so windows has nothing to do with
it.

This would make me look towards bios / hardware / HDD.

So, maybe strip the system down to a minimum config (IE 1 stick ram, no HDD,
no floppy, everything disabled in bios) and reset. If the error doesn't come
up, then slowly add h/w one piece at a time doing reset tests until it does
happen. Try a different graphics card early on to prove that is not it.

Try a google on "Verifying DMI POOL stall".

Thanks Tim
I was thinking the same thing. My problem is with that is, it dosen't happen
till I load my nvidia drivers. Right now I'm running a 40 gig Maxtor ATA 133
it runs fine, no hang at DMI. It's got me stumped If you can think of any
other thing please let me know. I will try what you suggest too.

I put my sound card on and it says it's booting from the operating system.
and then hangs.

I put my sound card on and it says it's booting from the operating system.
and then hangs. This happens about the same time it does the varifying the
DMI.
I tried again last night did everything that I have done before but this
time I zero formatted the drive, then used
maxblast to create the new partitions. I loaded everything I had before the
exact same way. This time it worked. I shut down the system three or four
times to see if it would occure again. Nothing happened. I then just
started to listen to some book tapes and relax. I did this for about two
hours. I then decided to shut down, I did that but when I started up again
I"m back to the two min delay???
I haven't got a hope of figureing this one out I don't think.
So far I have most of the problem solvers stumpped too.
I'm heading over to my brother's and am going to load the drive on his A7N
Deluxe. If anyone is up to a challange just let me know I'll give you
everything I have learned so far. TTFN
