A7N8X deluxe ?

I'm running the A7N8X Deluxe AMD 3200
3200 crusial Ram 160 gig SATA HD.
ATI 9700 pro
My problem is :
My computer hangs for two minutes during Varifying DMI POOL.

What I have done so far is:
1. Set the raid pin on main board.
2. Loaded the latest Raid Sil driver 3112a
During windows XP install press f6 then choose by press s
3. I loaded the nforce_3.13Winxp2k driver newest one off Asus site also the
newest IDE driver over top the 3.13 Driver like it said to. (no change
still hung)
4. Took all drives off but the SATA and DVD drives
5. In bios I set first boot divice as Scsi and every combination possible.
Rebooting after each attempt.

This problem started when I loaded the Nvidia Main board Drivers. Other wise
there is no problem. I have to load the drivers or the netcard won't work.
1. I have formatted the drive 5 times now. everytime useing max blaster
2. I have done a zero format and did a total scan disk with power max
nothing has been able to correct the problem. The only thing I haven't done
is flash the Bios ( too scared). If I did I would use the umber bios I'm
sure.
Tonight I took the Drive and vid card over to my brother's He has the same
setup. It hung over there the same as here.

With the sound on It says that it's booting to the OS then it hangs for two
minutes.
Is it possible that the harddrive could have some boot sector problems?? I
haven't any Idea how hardrives work. Could someone help me on this? TIA

Does it boot into Safe Mode? If so I would remove the video card in
the Device Manager and reboot. If it boots fine after that and
installs the video card and drivers then you know its video related.
Changing monitors can cause that so I'm not suprised it didn't want to
boot on another system, either. Provided he has a different monitor.

Hi,

I had the same problem with my new Raptor HD. I had one WD 1200JB on my PATA
set as master with the jumper on the back of the hard drive, and the Raptor
connected to primary channel of the SATA connector on the mobo.

When I first installed the Raptor, the computer hung around the verifying
DMI Pool for about 2 minutes. I checked the WD website for any information,
and found out that if there was only one drive on the primary PATA cable, to
remove the jumper from the back of the drive all together. I did it and the
boot up went as normal. Don't know if it will help you, but it might be
worth a try.

Once I had that sorted, I removed the power supply from the back of the
WD1200JB drive and set up XP on the Raptor, after setting up XP I set the
boot sequence to just SCIS.

HTH

Cheers,
Innis.

Thanks you for your information, I had by accident tried that already.
My drive is set as Secondary for some reason. I wonder if that could be part
of the problem. Any other suggestions?
