Stephen Lebans Rich Text programme

Christine

I am such a novice at Access I probably really shouldn't
even be thinking about this, but *love* the idea of rich
text for my memo fields and downloaded Stephen's
"RichTextActiveXonlyVersion1.8.zip" files.

Only problem is... how do you install it into a project
and what steps are required to get it to work on existing
forms? Also, clicking on Setup (application) a message
says "The parameter is incorrect." Using Windows XP /
Access 2002.

Thank you,
Christine

I have never heard of a single instance where the Setup program failed.
Try downloading the archive again, saving it to your hard drive, unzip
it and then run the Setup.exe program.

Download and have a look at the sample MDB to see how to integrate the
RTF2 control into your own apps.

As to placing the RTF2 ActiveX control onto a form of your own, from the
Insert menu select ActiveX control. WHen the Controls Dialog winow
appears scroll down until you can see the listing for RTF2 control.
Select it and then click on the OK button. THe RTF2 control is now
inserted onto your Form.

THe control should be bound to a Memo field containing the text you
want to apply RTF formatting to. Right Click on the RTF2 control and
select Properties. Go to the Data Tab. Set the Control SOurce to the
desired Memo field in your table.
Now change to Form View. Within the RTF2 control you can now use the
built in right click Context menu to add formatting to the text. If you
prefer you could also IMPORT the RTF2 Access Toolbar from the sample
RTF2 MDB you downloaded.

Good Luck!
