step by step instructions re. xp pro. {format)

Hi
I have tried several groups for this info but they all refer me to web sites
which are not very helpfull for the complete beginner.
I would like to ask if anyone could give me step by step instructions from
start to finish in how to format and reinstall windows xp. pro.

Please try and make it very simple as I am a complete beginner to computers
and I would like to save myself time and money by doing a reinstall myself I
would be very gratefull if someone could take the time to do this for me.

Hi Eddie,

It's not really that difficult, but the steps you take depend largely on the
type of media you are using. If it is a restore set from the manufacturer of
a preinstalled system, then you should follow thier instructions. For a
retail version of WindowsXP, MVP Michael Stevens has written some wonderful
