Status bar reads incorrectly.

I'm using Word 2002 and the status bar reads page 2 when there is only 1 page.
All of the other specifics are correct.
Any suggestions on how to change it back to page 1.
 
Make sure your section start type (File | Page Setup | Layout) isn't set to
Even Page and that page numbering is set to "Continue from previous
section."
