Status bar in folder and Internet Explorer default settings

HI,

In internet Explorer, I like the status bar on. It
always used to be. I know I can turn in on by going to
View-Status bar. However, I'd like to make it always on
by default. Now it seems it is always off by default.

Also, I never paid much attention till now, but it looks
like it is by default set to off on my folders.

Any ideas?

Turn it on in a folder then Tools - Folder Options - View - Apply To All Folders.
