Stationary /Template alignment problem

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any help you could give me would
be greatly appreciated, I have been trying to find a way round this problem
for days.

I have been trying to create stationary for outgoing e-mails. It is
basically a thin low resolution banner (.GIF image) going across the top and
the left hand side of the e-mail. My problem is that when I type a message,
it types over the image. I have been trying to find a way to offset the text
box (the area where i compose the text) so that it doesn't clash with the
image.

I have tried using the Outlook help options, to no avail. I am sure this
can be done as some of the standardised microsoft stationary are setup
exactly the way I would like mine to look. Can anyone help or point me to an
online resource that will take me through how this can be resolved?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Kindest regards

Isn't it possible for you to put the sections you want into 'tables' ?

that way you can create different cells for the image, and another for the
text?
