What programs can be safely unchecked under msconfig to speedup the startup process without affecting computer performance?

Please list the programs listed in your computer since each computer
has different programs installed.

Hi Mark,

On a clean install, no programs start at boot. No programs, other than the
OS are necessary to run XP. You should run your AV at boot, anything else is
optional.

To identify these programs, search the internet using a tool like Google. To
start you off, have a look at this web site:
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/startup_full.php.

Once you understand what these programs do, you can decide whether you wish
them to start with Windows.
