Startup

Is there a way to change your startup programs that open and run from startup? For instance, the changes you can make in "msconfig" in any other version of windows. I would like to have less background programs running on my Windows 2000 Pro machine if possible. If anybody can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Check the start menu: Start->Programs->Startup

And also under these reg keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER:
\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Windows 98 MSConfig runs almost fully on NT5. It is available to download
freely over the net.

Also check the Startup Programs list under Computer
Management, System tools,
System Information and then Software Environment.

I have found many programs that my pc loads everytime it
starts up. But I don't know how to delete those items. I
just posted a question in win2k Applications.
