Hi Everyone:

When I boot up XP Home Edition, by default it goes to screen with 3
different users on it. I then click my ICON and off I go.

Is there a way I can boot directly to my screen and bypass the "clicking" of
my desired Icon?

I use WIN XP Home Edition, Serv Pack 2 and IE 6.0

tks all

tks Malke, I had to use the Tweak UI method, but one thing though, I
change it to automatically logon to me and it only works one or 2
times, I then have to redo it, how do I make it stick to the auto
logon?

It only works a few times and then you need to click your icon again?
Something else must be going on then. Perhaps one of the other users is
changing the setting back to the Welcome Screen.

Well, without being able to see your computer it's hard to know why. Try
this:

Set logon the way you want it and then apply MVP Kelly Theriot's fix:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm - Save Settings on Exit
(Line 54)

Test and let me know what happens.

This is a home computer?

this is a home PC, and can't find the MVP fix, line 54? can you be more
specific on the Kelly page?

tks

Go to the link I gave you and read the instructions at the top of the
page. Now scroll down to Line 54 and look at the links on the
right-side column.

Perhaps you might want a knowledgeable friend or professional to come
on-site and look at your machine. I'm not saying this to hurt your
feelings; just being practical.

Tks so much Malke, I was able to open the correct one but am from the
"don't touch me" school and am afraid of registry stuff. So will take your
suggestion and seek out a professional. Tks so much for the time.

Malke, I found out that for my Tweak UI auto Logon feature to work needs a
password that matches my password for logging on. Even though I didn't use
passwords, it still needed one but works fine now.
