startup repair

Can anyone tell me why since installing the latest Vista upgrade friday
night, my laptop wont let me in? I get the F8 page up upon start up, then it
goes onto the startup repair page, cannot complete this section, so then just
restarts and does the whole process again. I have tried to recover to an
earlier date but to no avail. It does it in safe mode too. Any suggestions?
I didn't get the disk when I purchased the laptop so cannot do a reinstall
of windows. HELP!

If you are getting the F8 menu automatically on startup, there is something
wrong with the hard drive. The F8 menu has a "Command Prompt" which will
allow you to run the command :

chkdsk /R

If no help, you are going to have to ask the maker of your system for a
replacement drive.
