Startup Problems

when i startup the computer programs delay in starting up for a couple
minutes and the start menu remains busy for a while. this just started
happening recently about half a week ago so can u tell me how to fix this?

Goto Network connections right click Local area connection select properties
highlight internet protocol select properties and put 198.xxx.xxx.xxx where
x=whatever number you desire in the ip address box and 255.255.255.0 in the
subnet mask box.Then reboot. HTH
